Energy Healing
Meridian Therapies / EFT
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a simple, rapid and
remarkably effective approach to healing emotional disorders
that is based on a synthesis of Chinese acupressure and applied
Kinesiology. Fears, phobias and negative emotions can be
quickly removed with this simple technique.
EFT is based on the premise that the body's energy system is linked to energy circuits or meridians that run throughout the body. The state of these meridians is directly affected by your emotional and physical health. Imagine the meridians as rivers. Upsets in emotional or physical health lead to the equivalent of blockages or overflows in these rivers. By setting right the meridian - that is restoring the body's energy status - the emotional / physical disorder is corrected allowing for natural growth.
How is this done? By tapping with the fingers on certain acupressure points on the face, torso and hands, while "tuning in" to the problem in your mind. Through these points we can access important meridians of the body and by tapping on them excess negative emotional energy is released. A problem may have different aspects attached to it that surface in the course of treatment. In such cases, it is important to persist in rooting out all these aspects, much like peeling back the layers of an onion, and tap on them until all the issues are resolved.
I have personally found EFT an extremely effective and quick method of healing. Powerful emotions like fear, guilt, sadness, can be released and resolved quickly and effectively. These powerful negative emotions often underlie the client's presenting symptom and when the emotion is released the symptom is easily resolved. Another positive aspect of EFT is that it can easily be taught to clients so when they are situations that in the past brought up fears for them they can use it for themselves to release any remaining emotion. For example, a person with a fear of flying or public speaking can use this simple technique, there and then, in the actual situation, and can easily and quickly achieve calm and balance in their body and mind.
Emo-Trance (Emotional Transformation)
Emotrance is a form of energy healing that is simple, effective
and very quick. It is a way of balancing our energies,
restoring harmony to the system and transforming negative
emotions into positive ones of calm, harmony and happiness.
It heals from the inside out. We use our body and physical responses to guide us every step of the way and to let us know when the process is complete. Emotrance is about healing the heart/spirit and in doing that there can be an emotional and/or physical healing also. But the focus is on the inner healing.
All emotions are cries of pain or joy from the energy system. By locating where the emotion is felt in the body, we find where the blockage in the energy system is. We then focus our attention on that area with the intention to release and heal. Our mind is very powerful and when we focus our attention on something, we are fully in the present and the full power of the mind is on that thing. When we have an intention, a desire, and we focus our mind and feelings on that, it is very powerful and our unconscious mind will create that for us. So when our attention is on the area in the body, where we are feeling the negative emotion and our intention is to release and heal, the full power of the mind and body come together to restore balance in the energy system, usually resulting in feelings of calm and joy.
Tapas Acupressure Technique
Tapas Acupressure Technique is a modern, energy healing technique, involving psychology and acupressure. It is a powerful way to resolve trauma and bring about feelings of balance and calm on a physical and emotional level. It was developed by Tapas Fleming, an American therapist.
When we experience a trauma, i.e. anything that brings up powerful negative emotions for us, there is a blockage in our energy flow and we become "stuck" emotionally in that place. If a teacher at school humiliated us in front of the class when we were five years old, at some level we are still feeling those feelings of the five year old whenever we are in a situation where we have to get up in front of a group of people. So any time we are in a situation that reminds us of the original trauma, we relive it and all the same feelings come back up again. On a conscious level we are not aware of this. We may not even consciously remember the trauma. We are just aware that we feel fearful, self conscious, shaky, sweaty, hot and cold, whatever the original physical symptoms were. This will continue till the trauma is resolved and is physically and emotionally exhausting.
There are two therapies that I use to resolve trauma (and bear in mind that a huge amount of our problems are a result of a trauma from our past such as fears, phobias, allergies, weight gain, shyness, obsessions, etc.):
- Analysis in hypnosis (this is covered under hypnosis and is extremely effective)
- Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT)
TAT involves placing the fingers lightly on acupressure points at the front and back of the head which correspond to the brains vision centres. We then create a flow of energy from one hand to the other. That flow of energy is natural in all of us. Our life-force flows from our fingertips and our palms. This flow of powerful life energy passes through all the control centres of the brain. One hand rests at the back of the head. This is the part of the brain that stores memories. The other hand rests at a point on the forehead, which is the part of the brain that imagines or visualises the future. TAT enables a flow of energy from these two energy centres that allow us to change the way past memories are stored in the mind and to create a positive future. In the TAT pose the client puts their attention on eight steps or statements which are designed to release the trauma, bring about healing and resolve the symptom the client came with.
Personally, I never cease to be amazed at how powerful and effective this technique can be and I have witnessed huge transformations in people's lives as a result of using it.
Sometimes people are tormented by painful memories from their past and TAT can help them let go and put them finally to rest. I have successfully used this technique to help people who experienced abuse, bereavement, loss of a special relationship, emotional abuse from a partner or parent, difficult childhood memories, now resulting in shyness or lack of confidence, and many other things.
